Designed by Samuel Wilkinson in 2011. It is developed from the original limited edition series. The Vessel pendant light consists of two blown glass forms designed around the Plumen bulb, created in two concentric layers which soften the light.
The Plumen bulb won the 2011 Brit Insurance Design of the Year Award at the Design Museum London. Plumen is the antithesis of low energy light bulbs as we know them. Rather than hide the unappealing traditional compact fluorescent light behind boring utility, Plumen 001 is a bulb you’ll want on show. The Plumen bulb uses 80% less energy and lasts 8 times longer than incandescent bulbs, giving you the opportunity to purchase an ecological product with style. It works just like any low energy bulb but it has a lot more presence.
When illuminated the glass tint mutes the light without hiding the form of the bulb and produces an unexpected irregular reflection that appears holographic.
